I only recently learned about the death of UFOlogist Ray Dene Stanford, who passed away back on June 14, 2025, at the age of 86. Stanford was the author of several books, perhaps most notably SOCORRO 'SAUCER' IN A PENTAGON PANTRY (Blueapple Books, 1976), a microscopic analysis of police officer Lonnie Zamora's infamous sighting of an egg-shaped UFO in April of 1964 on the outskirts of Socorro, New Mexico. The book is an illuminating time capsule of 1960s/1970s UFO culture and overlaps, in various fascinating ways, with Leonard H. Stringfield's 1977 book SITUATION RED: THE UFO SIEGE (which I mentioned earlier this year in my 1-7-25 CryptoPost). It's definitely worth your time.
