The FBI Spied on Ray Bradbury

According to recently released Freedom of Information Act documents, for years the FBI wasted countless amounts of money and manpower time spying on Ray Bradbury's activities due to the baseless warnings of an informant named Martin Berkeleya "friendly witness" to the House Un-American Activities Committeewho insisted that Bradbury's science fiction stories were specifically designed to be covert weapons of pro-Communist, anti-American psychological warfare.

A representative quote taken directly from the FBI files:  "The general aim of these science fiction writers is to frighten the people into a state of paralysis or psychological incompetence bordering on hysteria."
