Recommended Independence Day Viewing:  Alan Pakula's THE PARALLAX VIEW (1974) in which investigative journalist Joe Frady (Warren Beatty) uncovers the disturbing truth behind the Fourth of July assassination of a populist senator on top of the Seattle Space Needle (based on Loren Singer's 1970 novel of the same name).

Recommended Independence Day Reading:  Jack Kirby's BICENTENNIAL BATTLES (1976) in which Captain America encounters a celestial being known as Mister Buda who widens the superhero's consciousness with a "Psychic-Talisman" surreptitiously placed on the Captain's palm.  This Talisman causes Captain America to travel through time on a quest to discover the true meaning of America....
